So much of life can be written off to the mundane, to boring ‘same old, same old’ or Bill Murray’s classic movie ‘Groundhog Day’

That’s one perspective for sure, and I’d be lying to you if I haven’t at times agreed with the sentiment and uttered the same words.

BUT, there’s another perspective that offers a different lens, one that opens the door to Life in ALL its fullness - that Beauty is everywhere.

The above picture was taken as Toby and I cleared up the hall in Grantchester in February, it was late afternoon and the light was fading. The curtains remind me of being at home in the 90’s with mum and dad, the pull cord beckons to be yanked to enjoy the slide of the curtain, but it’s the blue winter light and the condensation obscuring the winter trees in comparison to the magnolia walls on the inside that really grabs my attention.

It is a powerful thing to put a frame around the landscape of our lives so that we REALLY see what decorates our everyday.

It takes time to really look, to engage with the connecting memories that rise as we look and to be still enough, long enough to drink in what we are being given in the moment.

So today. Be still. Look at the world that is around you, the surroundings that we so often wish to travel away from and be still, receive what is being offered, because the One that offers it is better than we think…
